This master-quality rock crystal carving represents a kitsune, a Kami or spirit venerated in Shinto practice. They are magical shapeshifters and serve as messengers to the gods, and so are often petitioned at shrines to carry the prayers of petitioners. A pearl of wisdom rests beneath the kitsune’s paw, and at the rear of the carving is a ruyi made of golden healer quartz, a scepter that symbolizes power and good fortune, and is often carried by deities to grant requests and fulfill wishes.
